Yes, it’s Bangkok again. You talk about hotels, I bet you can write a book or two about all the lodgings in Bangkok. Bangkok offers a wide variety of accommodations, to suit every single type of travelers. And this time round, I chose to stay beside the Chao Phraya River, a riverfront teak house situated not far away from Chinatown.
If you want to experience the old-world charm of Bangkok, you can make Loy La Long Hotel your base. It’s only a 5 mins walk to Yaowarat Road, one of the food heaven in Bangkok. BTS skytrain? No, you won’t need that. Here, you shall just hop onto the boat. You can either walk to Krom jao ta pier (N4) or Ratchawong pier(N5) to catch a Chao Phraya River Express boat. And this boat will bring you to most of the main attractions in old Bangkok, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, National Museum, Khao San Road, Asiatique Mall and many others.
So, what if you just want to slack? Well, just laze around the common area or sit at the deck to enjoy the breeze. Watching the cruises, express boats, fishing boats sailing along the winding Chao Phraya River is nothing but pleasure.
